I mentioned that we were given 16 artists to research last week. I have these in my contextual but i wanted to update them on my blog also
John Curran:

He confronts his own sexual desires. His paintings mix classical elements with a real crudeness

The images contrasts with the emptiness of the personalities portrayed, making them psychologically unsettling
Christopher Wool.

He works on the the surface and then rotates it and reworks. This can be seem by such things as the upside down drops. Erasing plays a big part in his work.
Could think of Jackson Pollock or Brice Marden.
Constant urge to make a mark and at the same time, a conflicting urge to erase it.
He has influenced many younger artists such as Kelly Walker, Sett Price and Josh Smith
Peter Doig

His paintings break price records.
Figurative paintings began in the 1990's. Over time has continued to alter his approach to the figuration and landscape.

Sarah Morris
Her main media : film and painting
Both in very different ways.
Paintings: abstract and geometrical.
Films: representational
Films compliment her paintings.
She is interested in urban structures, usually architectural but more recently also social.
