I want to look further at this idea of generations being linked together and aspects of people long gone being carried forward and being kept alive. I want to use materials associated with the Islanders.

I have been able to get some turf from a friend and i want to try out carving into it. I have no idea how easy this will be or what are the best tools. I have tried so far a blade, sheets of sandpaper and a wire. This does work but my hands are killing me and it would take ages. I am going to try a sander and see what happens.
